Short Independence Day Speech in English

Happy Independence Day to everybody!

It’s a sunny morning, and everyone is filled with pride in their country. But 73 years ago, India was still a colony of the British Empire and not an independent nation. Indians were kidnapped, subjected to torture, and made into slaves. Some independence warriors emerged as a result of the rage among Indians, feeling the need to educate Indians about their situation. Indians were involved in their independence campaigns and battles up until they won their freedom. Liberation warriors like Mahatma Gandhi participated in several freedom movements, such as the civil disobedience movement, the non-cooperation movement, and the salt march movement, in order to win independence.

On August 15, 1947, the British Government finally granted us our freedom. This day stands out in our minds because of the enormous sacrifices made by our martyrs. To build a strong nation, we must keep our unity.

Thanks a lot.

Now, I am ending my speech with these words, thank you so much.
Jai Hind Jai Bharat

Long Independence Day Speech in English

Hello Everyone Welcome to our school’s Independence Day celebration.

These words by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose are still enough to give me goosebumps. In 1947, on this day, India got freedom from 200-year-old slavery by the British government. India battled for its independence for approximately ten years of such hardship and oppression. Indian souls are filled with pride and honour as we look back on the past 75 years since gaining our freedom. Let,s all join hands and bow in front of the heroes who fought valiantly to give generation freedom. Each Indian fills their hearts on this auspicious day with enormous honour and harmony for their motherland, with saffron and green colours floating high in the sky and with patriotic fervour and pride.
On a special day, schools, colleges, offices, and universities where Indians gathered to hoist the flag and chant Our National Anthem. Also, there is a huge ceremony in Rajpath, Delhi on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day. Our Honorable Prime Minister of India hoisted our tricolour flag. The national anthem is played to give honour to the nation. The chopper drops flowers. The militants from all the forces participated in a march past parade. Not only Indians, but many foreign countries’ representatives also attend this ceremony.
India is more than a country for Indians; we regard it as a mother. Since independence, India has played a vital role in the globe. Despite various domestic problems, India always extends her helping hand to every corner of the globe. In the recent COVID-19 pandemic, India supplied vaccines at a very low cost to neighbouring countries to save mankind. This is how a mother treated her ill child.
The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was started by the central government  of India to celebrate the country’s
75th anniversary of independence as well as its glorious history, culture, and accomplishments. It also
served to give tribute to our freedom fighters. As a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav; ‘Har Ghar Tiranga ‘; the campaign has also been introduced to entice people to carry the Indian flag inside and raise it.

Along with celebrating Independence Day, We should acknowledge the contributions and sacrifices of
our freedom fighters not only for today but for the last breath of every Indian. We know that this generation is the result of all the freedom warriors, so each breath we take has special value to us as we breathe freely. In the preamble of its constitution, India is described as a sovereign, secular, and democratic nation. As young people, it is our duty to uphold the nation’s moral pillars. It is our responsibility to take care of the pillars of virtue and rich cultures of our country as well as the youth. As we hoist the national flag, colourful tricolours stretch their wings far into the sky. The chosen colours are saffron, white, and green. The bold and brave are represented by the vibrant saffron.  Pure white stands for harmony and tranquilly. Green is a colour that denotes good fortune and faith. An Ashok chakra with 24 spikes is inscribed between these colours. The Indian tricolour symbolises bravery and valour and represents harmony, love, peace, and chivalry.

As we reflect on the days of slavery and the ways in which we came together to overcome the
injustice, Independence Day evokes a wide range of emotions. Over the years, our valiant warriors
have made tremendous sacrifices to guarantee that future generations may live in freedom and
dignity. Our brave warriors have sacrificed much over the years to ensure that future generations can live in
freedom and dignity. Salute those brave hearts on this special day for gifting independence of India from British rule. Hence we can say proudly, “Sare Jahan Se acha,  Hindostan Hamara “.

I wish you all a very happy Independence Day. JAI HIND.
