## CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of the average of best 8 assignments out of the total 12 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF THE AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

## NPTEL An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence Assignment 8 Answers 2022:-

Q1. Mona is really excited for her birthday and she makes a large number of her signature muffins. The muffins can either be choco-chip or blueberry and both are equal in number. Bennet receives a pack of 20 muffins which have been randomly sampled from Mona’s kitchen. Given that at least 18 of the muffins Bennet has received are blueberry, let the probability that all the muffins Bennet received are blueberry is p/q where p and q are co-prime.

What is p+q?

Q2. Suppose A and B are conditionally independent given C. Then which of the following are true:

• P(A,B) = P(A).P(B)
• P(A,B,C) = P(A|B,C).P(B|C).P(C)
• P(A,B,C) = P(A|C).P(B|C).P(C)
• P(A,B|C) = P(A|C).P(B|C)

Q3. Which of the following pairs of variables are conditionally independent given information about C?

• A and D
• D and E
• D and F
• A and F

Q4. Which of the following variables belong to the Markov blanket of C?

Q5. What is the minimum number of parameters required to represent the Bayesian Network assuming variables A-F are boolean?

Q6. Consider the following Bayesian network with n boolean variables.

Q7. Assume that we wish to compute P(A). What is the evidence and what are the hidden variables?

Q8. Assume that an earthquake occurred and the alarm sounded. Then, let p be the probability that a burglary also occurred. What is the value of 100*p

Q9. Consider the following Bayesian Network which is used for disease detection:
What is the probability of not having disease D given a negative result on test A, and a negative result on test B?

Q10. Which of the following statement(s) is(are) true?
